FLAME University (Foundation for Liberal and Management Education) is a private liberal arts university located in Pune, India. Established in 2007, it is known for its interdisciplinary approach, combining liberal arts education with business and management studies. The university's mission is to offer an environment where students can pursue a broad-based education, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and holistic personal growth.

The degree nomenclature is determined by the major that the student chooses to pursue.The program comprises of Foundation Courses, Specialisation Courses (Major and Minor), Experiential Learning Courses, Value-added Courses, Project-based Courses (in the optional year IV), and Open Elective Courses. An unwavering focus on fundamental skill development and career preparedness is at the core of all courses.​

​​​Selection Procedure

​​

Flame University has an assessment process which considers the following aspects of your application:

  • Admission Test (Flame Entrance Aptitude Test  or FEAT /SAT/ACT)

  • Essay

  • Online Personal Interview

  • Past Academic Record

  • Extracurricular activities/ achievements

  • Statement of Purpose (SOP)

They shortlist candidates based on their overall performance on all the parameters enlisted above.

Minimum Eligibility

  • In the case of Higher Secondary School Certificate (or an equivalent qualification) or State Boards, CBSE and CISCE (Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations), the applicant should have passed 12th standard final examination.

  • In the case of International Baccalaureate students, a diploma is the minimum requirement.

  • ‘A’ Level certificate is the minimum requirement in the case of Cambridge students (GCE/IGCSE/GCSE examinations of the approved British Examination Bodies)

  • Applicants who have obtained 10+2 equivalent qualification from a foreign university / board / institution, other than above shall have to submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi along with a transcript of marks.

  • In order to be eligible to pursue 3-year and 4-year programs with a major in Economics, it is desirable that the candidate has passed Mathematics as one of the subjects at 12th or equivalent level. However, the candidates who haven't done Mathematics in their 12th Standard can also pursue Economics as a Major provided they pass the following two courses in the first year of the undergraduate program: 1) Precalculus[2 credits]; and 2) Introductory Calculus [2 credits]. 
    (Subject to additional requirements mentioned in the academic handbook). 

  • Candidates currently enrolled/studying in their 12th standard or equivalent class can also apply, provided they can produce their 12th passing certificate / mark sheet before the prescribed last date.

  • The applicant should be less than 21 years of age as on July 31, 2025.

  • FEAT is optional for those who have SAT/ACT* scores. We do not specify a cut off score for SAT/ACT which would guarantee  admission in FLAME, as the SAT/ACT score is only one of the parameters we consider for selection. Needless to say, a high SAT/ACT score improves one’s chances of selection.
    ( *SAT/ACT scores are valid for 5 years. Please ensure that your scores are valid till the date of enrollment specified in the schedule.)

Admission Procedure

​​

FLAME University has an online application process. You are required to provide information such as your entrance level tests scores (SAT/ACT if applicable), personal contact details, educational qualifications, achievements/ extracurricular activities and statement of purpose, etc.

​

An admission test is a mandatory qualifying criterion for admission to FLAME University. Additionally, you need to upload all the requisite documents on the application portal and  pay the application fees.

​

FLAME Entrance Aptitude Test (FEAT), Essay and Online Personal Interview

Once the application is submitted, FLAME University will conduct a preliminary screening to shortlist candidates for FEAT (if applicable), Essay and Online Personal Interview. If you are shortlisted, you will be intimated about the date, timing and other relevant details of the online assessment. FEAT (if applicable), Essay and Online Personal Interview are conducted online.

(A) FEAT : Nature of the Flame Entrance Aptitude Test ( FEAT)  

​

FEAT is of 120 minutes duration and is divided into 4 sections, as given below:

  •  Section 1: Verbal Ability -  40 Questions ( 50 marks)

  • Section 2: Reasoning (Analytical and Logical) - 20 questions (40 marks)

  • Section 3: Quantitative ability - 20 questions (30 marks).

  • Section 4: General knowledge - 20 questions (20 marks)

 

(B) Essay : During the online assessment, you will be required to complete an essay, the topic of which will be provided on the spot. You will be given 20 minutes for the on-the-spot essay.

 

(C) Online Personal Interview : The Personal Interview  will be conducted online after you complete the FLAME Entrance Aptitude Test (FEAT) and the Essay. FLAME University's admission panel will conduct the Personal Interview to know more about your personality, your communication skills and your clarity of thought.

Undergraduate Program Fee Structure

​

  • Program Fees** (in INR per annum for Year 1) - Rs.8,35,000/-

  • Lodging & Boarding Fees *** - Rs.1,85,000/-

  • Other Fees - Rs.75,000/-

​

Notes:
** Program fees include charges for mandatory sports courses (first year).
*** Lodging & Boarding fees are applicable for the duration of the academic year. Additional stay beyond the academic year (if permitted) shall be charged extra on a pro-rata basis.

***** Additionally, a one-time refundable caution money deposit of INR 75,000 will be charged at the time of admission.

Flame’s admission process seeks to select the best performing applicants who can enhance the learning experience at Flame. MCM will assist the student to sharpen his skills in all the areas of FEAT i.e English, Reasoning, Maths and General Knowledge  

 

Further the student can go through Mock Interviews to prepare himself for the Personal Interview.
